A glossy fashion photograph, featuring a non-professional model wearing a borrowed dress, highlights the illusion of unattainable social standards.
The image was laid out as part of a fictional fashion magazine titled Consume.
The fine art print was then placed inside a sterile box and inoculated with mycelium, the underground part of fungi that connects plants and trees like a dense neural network, destroying in order to regenerate.
Colonised and reshaped by the mycelium, the photograph was later removed from the box and “redeemed”, revealing two opposing forms of consumerism: the human one, linear and self-contained, and the natural one, transformative and regenerative.
